Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ O (The blood of Jesus)
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ O (The blood of Jesus)
I am covered by the blood of Jesus
Ha! Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ (Ah, the blood of Jesus)
Nothing can resist it
One day, one day, LỌ́JỌ́ KAN (one day)
While a student in Ogun State University, about thirty-five years ago, ỌJỌ́ TÍ LỌ (many years have passed)
I just chop, I say make I sleep small
Just to catch small sleep, I come go far into dreamland
DREAM YEN REAL, MI O PARO (That dream was real, I am not lying)
I entered a big hall, I entered o
I saw tiny creatures, like monkeys
They came to drink, but it was blood they were drinking
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ NI WỌ́N N MÚ O (Blood is what they were drinking)
KÍ LÈ LÈYÍ? (What is this?)
What will I do now?
Fear caught me in the dream
Should I lie to you?
They were partying, with the blood of victims in a big round bowl
They would drink, raise their heads, WÁ TÚN TÚ SÍTA (and pour it out again)
In a mocking way o
As I thought of what to do
I came to understand that it was the victims’ blood they were drinking
What will I do now?
I got inspiration from the Holy Spirit
MO PÀRÍWÒ (I shouted)
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ O (The blood of Jesus)
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ LÓ GBÀ MÍ LÀ (The blood of Jesus saved me)
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ O (The blood of Jesus)
Ó LÁGBÁRA GAN (It is very powerful)
By the blood, darkness flees
By the blood, sadness goes
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ O (The blood of Jesus)
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ LÓ GBÀ MÍ LÀ (The blood of Jesus saved me)
What will save?
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ (The blood of Jesus)
Where is our victory?
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ (The blood of Jesus)
What chases darkness away?
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ (The blood of Jesus)
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ SAVES ME (The blood of Jesus saves me)
As I shouted, Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ (The blood of Jesus)
The roof of that hall tore into two, MO GBỌ́ GBAU (I heard a loud bang)
I saw blood descend from heaven, and it came down, just one drop
Chai! One drop scattered the devils
SÓ RÒ RÒ RÒ, it came down o (It came pouring down)
As it landed in their bowl
Á FÍ TÚ TÚ TÚ, the demons spat out all they drank (They spat it out forcefully)
They screamed in terror
OJÚ WỌ́N PỌN, WỌ́N KÉ ÌRÒRÀ (Their eyes widened; they cried out in pain)
They vomited all they had drunk
FIAM FIAM, WỌ́N SÁ LỌ ONE BY ONE (Quickly, they ran away one by one)
GBÓGBO WỌ́N TÚ SÍTA, WỌ́N SÁLỌ (They all scattered and ran away)
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ O (The blood of Jesus)
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ LÓ GBÀ MÍ LÀ (The blood of Jesus saved me)
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ O (The blood of Jesus)
Ó LÁGBÁRA GAN (It is very powerful)
By the blood, darkness flees
By the blood, conflict ceases
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ O (The blood of Jesus)
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ LÓ GBÀ MÍ LÀ (The blood of Jesus saved me)
TORÍ Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ NI O (Because it is the blood of Jesus)
No power can withstand it
No power can resist the blood of Jesus
Mercy by the blood
Favour by the blood
I plead the blood
I dive into the blood of Jesus
I cover myself with the blood
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ LÓRÍ MI (The blood of Jesus is upon me)
The blood of Jesus upon my spouse and my children
The blood of Jesus upon my house and my work
The blood of Jesus all around me
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ O (The blood of Jesus)
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ O (The blood of Jesus)
Ó LÁGBÁRA GAN O (It is very powerful)
The blood of Jesus upon my spouse and my children
The blood of Jesus upon my house and my work
The blood of Jesus upon all my ways
I plead the blood
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ O (The blood of Jesus)
I plead the blood
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ LÓ GBÀ MÍ LÀ (The blood of Jesus saved me)
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ O (The blood of Jesus)
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ O (The blood of Jesus)
Ẹ̀JẸ̀ JÉSÙ LÓ GBÀ MÍ LÀ (The blood of Jesus saved me)
Story Behind the Song
About thirty-five years ago, while Rev. Dunamis was a student at what is now Olabisi Onabanjo University (then Ogun State University), he had a vivid dream that became the foundation of this song. In the dream, he entered a large hall and saw strange creatures gathered around a bowl, drinking and mocking. Fear rose within him as he realised what he was seeing.
As he wondered what to do, the Holy Spirit gave him an inspiration. He cried out in English, “The Blood!” Immediately in the dream, the roof of the hall opened with a loud sound, and one drop descended from heaven into the bowl. The creatures could not withstand it; they scattered in terror.
That dream left a lasting revelation: no darkness, oppression or power can resist the blood of Jesus. Ẹ̀jẹ̀ Jésù is therefore a vibrant Fuji declaration of victory, protection, mercy and faith. It invites listeners to plead the blood of Jesus over their homes, families, work and every part of their lives.
